I am an unabashed Radiohead fanatic. Thom Yorke started a new band with some random ass people like Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers (who I’ve read broke up?), drummer Joey Waronker of R.E.M., Brazilian percussionist Mauro Refosco of Forro in the Dark and Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.

Sweet. Deal.

Check out these three new songs they debuted in Cambridge.

Here at [hellaclean] we pride ourselves in giving you good music to listen to. This time around, we are challenging you to MAKE good music to listen to.

what you speaking bout Mr. internet man?

The robots over at ill-literacy teamed up with Blind I For the Kids to launch their plan for world domination and it begins with open source music.

They want YOU, yes you, to help them with it.

Now wait… before you click the link below I need to warn you… your mind will be blown… at least a little bit… don’t say I didn’t warn you..

New track just dropped. I’m looking forward to this album. Mos Def is hoppin’ on it and lately everything that man has touched has been fire. This track features De La Soul and as the Brits would say “comes correct”…. as opposed to incorrect… like British teeth….

*zing*

that people are taking his music and just RUNNING with it, straight gassin’.

I love it!

Sonnymoon owns this song and I imagine owns Boston, Mass. They probably walk down the street and girl-jean-wearing hipsters with pocket-combs and vintage bowties lay in muddy puddles for them to walk over and not get their Steve Maddens or Chucks or whatevers wet.

(On a side not, i’ve yet to meet an honest to goodness “Masshole” like the ones in Good Will Hunting. I find them sociologically intriguing…. kinda like Guidos.)

This Drake cover is the last track on their album Golden Age which you can cop riiiiiiiiight here.

This band/album/cover was ill-advised by the robots running things over at ill-Literacy. Their revolution WILL be televised and you better not TiVo that shit. Trust me..

Thao and the Get Down Stay Down is perhaps the catchiest lil’ band name since Fistful of Assholes (Nick and Nora’s anyone?) and I’ll be damned if Thao Nguyen isn’t the quirkiest vietnamese indie rocker chick since…My Linh…

(ok, i just totally googled that)

Check her out playing a Tiny Desk Concert over at NPR. Yes, I am a stereotypical liberal D-bag that is fascinated with any all things considered by National Public Radio. Don’t judge me.

Oh yeah, and she beats boxes with her mouth.

has got it. I’m not sure what “it” is….well, you know the drill. This lil mini-doc shows you how I’m New Here was made. Pretty sweet.

out there, in the world, just puttering around. And it can be real sad in this “everybody has to grow up” kind of way.

But then there are the musicians that didn’t so much fail for lack of trying (any number of local acts) or going out in a ball of flames (any number of sad O’D cases) but that fail by basic attrition. The brutality of having the creativity chiseled out of you by life’s many twists and turns is rough to watch.

Bear witness.

ms erykah and her bad self. damn shes good. (the video does give off a little motion sickness, at least for me, you guys know how i get)

it’s never too late to help guys, make a donation today. <3

If you guys don’t know about J Dilla yet and you’re into hip hop just stop reading right now, take a lil ‘ternet break, and listen to either Donuts or Champion Sound(an artist mashup with an other hip hop heavyweight, MadLib). Then for the next week or so, whenever you listen to some new hot track, you’ll find yourself seeing how influential dude’s beats have been on the genre.

“the moooooore you knooooooow”

*stars shoot across the screen and a unicorn whinnies with glee*

But seriously, dude was massive. Sadly, he died four years ago and we’ll always wonder what he could have cooked up with the likes of Ye’ or perhaps producing an album for Common. You could spitball just about any artist to work with Dilla and your mind gets kinda blown away.

Stussy is doing some corporate-whoring and using a 3-part Dilla documentary as their vehicle. Well, it won’t make me buy any Stussy crap, but I can dig hearing how some of these albums came together and in the end it makes you want to get off your ass and do something creative/productive.
