The robots over at ill-literacy teamed up with Blind I For the Kids to launch their plan for world domination and it begins with open source music.
They want YOU, yes you, to help them with it.
Now wait… before you click the link below I need to warn you… your mind will be blown… at least a little bit… don’t say I didn’t warn you..
These funked-out, spoken-word-speaking, Brooklyn-transplants take their California freshness to new levels on their debut album iB4THE1.1. I’ve been digging on their spoken word for a minute and from appearances on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam to helping with local collective Neighborhood Watch to just being generally bad ass, these guys have done much to put Sacramento on the hiphop/spoken word map.
Their album is being released in suites (much like Janelle Monae’s) and it really is an experience. Imagine going to a Baptist church, dressed in your sunday best, and somehow you end up at the circus…. on ’shrooms…. with a mouthful of Sour Mambas and a handful of arcade tokens. I think that about describes it.
Man he use to be? He’s still the man! K-os is always bringing fire! Yes! he does. I have to say I was a little nervous about this album because I thought there was no way he was going to top his last two albums, but he sure did deliver Electrik Heat. The album drops November 18, 2009. I would definately cop this or at least have this on some sort of technologic music player. Whatever works for you. I’ve been talking about Natalie Portman ’cause you know she’s a bad one. I guess I wasn’t the only one to “Wish I Knew Natalie Portman.” EnJoyful.
<3 noodles.
